Newsflush: 21/11/2022

Hello, once again. Yes, it's been two years, three months and ten days since I did the last Newsflush, and you folks ought to know what has been happening. Remember when Ally Bobcat told you about the Throwback Root Beers that would happen? Due to university work and other things, they're about those unfinished comics that were written but have yet to be drawn and finished in time. But, on 25th August 2022, the Throwbacks were completed after one year, eleven months and twenty-three days. Success! Anyway, I'm here to let you know what has been happening with Root Beers since I last blogged. The Midweek Root Beers has to be cancelled because I can't think of anything light-hearted about the news. But I recommended looking up the Goodable news app, which can only cover good news without negativity and politics. And here is some news on what I'm doing with the comic as I share this. The Root Beers on Tapas comic series is updated every Tuesday, using the method that ...

Hello. Al Welch’s speaking. I’ve just been given a letter by my OC, Ally Bobcat, concerning the Root Beers comic series on its tenth anniversary year, folks. I, therefore, quotes the following... To whom it may concern, As you may aware, it was an awkward year for everyone here. And it was all because of one nasty, little virus, hogging us out of a peachy-keen summer. While this was going on, we’ve been celebrating our web-comic strip, Root Beers, on its tenth anniversary. Well, being on deviantART anyway. We started out this celebration with a serial special, in which one page or chapter, being put up on deviantART and the website, every day from 19th July until yesterday. And we’re planning some celebration stuff, by not only some ideas for an ideal crossover (Just a suggestion.), but also we’re also planning a special comeback. First, we’ll be starting our comeback on 19th August 2020 with Midweek Root Beers, the lightly topical comic, made and uploaded on the same evening. Th...

(Yes, Wallie. It's been a year, eight months and twenty days since I've last updated the Newsflush and I'm considering this right now. So, do go away...) Hello, there. Hope you're well. It's me, the real deal. Now, a lot of things have happened to me since I've talked to you last. Went and pledged a lot of Kickstarter projects. I did a lot of walks around the suburbs of my city of Southampton, England. I went on several trips outside Southampton, including Hythe, Romsey, Winchester, Portsmouth, Bishop's Waltham and even Reading. I'm carrying on with volunteering at Board in the city, a community café with board games in Southampton, on Friday afternoons and Saturday afternoons. Apologizing always for the lack of regular Root Beers comics and Tapas Root Beers comics Carrying on with #FanArtFriday and birthday gift arts. Hopefully, this short update will keep you informed until the next Newsflush (Hopefully in the next few weeks and NOT the n...

The review of the year, that's the way I see it. Doesn't it look nice? Unfortunately, incomplete though, due to timing issues. So, apologies for that. The #RIP list in full: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tv9QWScEBeleYoEdPkrmxKNMsUHvmXvJf_PGlYqX51E/edit?usp=sharing

Hello, there. How are you? Nice of you to join me on this sunny May Bank Holiday. First of all, I would like to apologise to every one of you for many delays of the regular Root Beers comic series. It's a real shame I know, but this is mainly due to my coursework in Illustration at Solent University. But, now I've graduated on 13th July 2017, it'll be quite hopeful for me to catch up with the comic series. But then, there were obstacles along the way. What, with gymnastics, tag rugby, swimming, trampolining sessions, meetings with the local employment training centre, etc. I'm currently doing some volunteering work every Saturday afternoons at Board in the City CIC, a community cafe that provides board and card games in Southampton, England. Anyway, I'm terribly sorry about the regular Root Beers comics, but I can still provide the Tapas Root Beers and the Midweek Root Beers, if it is quite possible. Al Welch, out!
